Obituary of Thomas R. Cummings

Thomas R. Cummings, age 53, of Mansfield, PA, died Friday, June 12, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 11, 1955 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Roy F. and the late Doratha (Rogers) Cummings. Tom was the husband of Joy (Thomas) Cummings. He was employed by Beiters Furniture of Mansfield. He enjoyed working with his hands and with wood. Thomas is survived by his wife, Joy; four sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher and Pam Cummings of Mansfield, Erick and Nicole Cummings of Mansfield, Chad and Erica Cummings of Troy, Joshua (Amy Wilson) Cummings of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Alexus, Collin, Layne and Joel; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Susan Cummings of Mansfield; sister, Bonnie Cummings of Mansfield; a special aunt, Ruth Neal of Mansfield; mother-in-law, Ruth Thomas of Mansfield; brothers-in-law, Terry Thomas of Mansfield, Mike Thomas of Mansfield, David (Pam) Thomas of Morris Run, and Douglas (Jody) Thomas of Mansfield, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Doratha in 2005, and his father-in-law, Doug Thomas in 2009. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, June 15, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, June 16, 2009 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 immediately following the viewing at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Associate Pastor, Adam Pereira officiating. Burial will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Wellsboro, PA.
