Obituary of Gerald E. Miller

Gerald E. Jerry Miller, age 75, of Mansfield, PA, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Jerry was born April 27, 1933 in Tioga, PA a son of Albert and Irene (Howe) Miller. Jerry was the husband of Margaret (Nay) Hawn-Miller for 14 years. Jerry retired after 30 years of service from Corning Glass Works. He was a life member of the Mansfield, Tioga, and Blossburg Fire Departments for over 50 years. He was a member of the DAD of Foreign Service Veterans and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting, and mostly his family. Jerry is survived by his wife, Margaret; a son, Timothy Miller, of Orefield, PA; three daughters and a son-in-law, Linda Cooper of New Bloomsfield, PA, Roxie Aldrich of Coplay, PA, Jolene and Stephen Hall of Blossburg, PA; nine grandchildren, Kristie, Jimmy, T.J., Jerry, Jennifer, Erin, Emily, Henry and Cecil; six great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Albert Bill Miller of Tioga, PA, Robert Bob and Shirley Miller of Westfield, PA; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine Keck of Tioga, PA, Donna and Leslie Holleran of Tioga, PA, JoAnn and Jim Wicks of Tioga, PA, Anna Mae and Cal Everett of Tioga, PA; step-children, Ross and Mary Kay Hawn of Mansfield, PA, Alan and Nell Hawn of Mansfield, PA, Donna and Martin Hines of Montoursville, PA, Karen and Dr. Edward Cias of Mansfield, PA; and five step-grandchildren, Curtis, Amber, Linda, Alan Jr. and John; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Guillaume officiating. Burial will be in Wellsboro Cemetery.
