Obituary of John Ozelski
John Albert Ozelski, age 65 of Elkland, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at his home. John was born November 2, 1958, in Shamokin, PA, a son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Sabol) Ozelski. He was the Operations Manager at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, and a member of Saint Joseph's Church in Shelton, CT. John enjoyed hunting, NASCAR, football, golfing, slow pitch softball, coaching football and T ball, grilling, and cooking. John was a volunteer firefighter for many years and was very devoted to his family. He loved his job and left a lasting impact on everyone he worked with.
John "Papaw" is survived by his wife, Cheryl "Gammy" (Ljungquist) Ozelski; sons, John (Erin) Ozelski, Jr. of Beacon Falls, CT, Stephen (Alaina) Ozelski of Oxford, CT, and Thomas (Brittany Brown) Ozelski of Pine City, NY; grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Cole, Mila, Lilly Jean, and Emma Rose; brothers, Joseph (Holly Jacobs) Ozelski of Shelton, CT and James (Karen) Ozelski of Naugatuck, CT; and sister, Teresa (Bryce) Russell of Suffield, CT.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10am at St. Joseph Church 50 Fairmont Place Shelton, CT 06484. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
