Obituary of Mary J. Webster

Mary J. (Button) Webster, age 103, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Wellsboro, PA. She was born on June 12, 1920, in Lindley, NY, a daughter of Leroy and Bessie (Bartoo) Button. She worked as a cook for RB Walter Elementary School. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield, 4H for 20 years, and The Grange in Tioga. Mary is survived by her children, Betty Haslund of Elkland, PA, Richard (Esther) Jones of Vero Beach FL, Garry (Debra) Jones of West Suffield CT; and Sharon (Jerry) Fisher of Middleburg PA; a daughter-in-law Kathy Jones of Ellington CT; stepchildren Gary (Barbara) Short of Bath, NY, Connie (Bob) Lovell of Lawrenceville, PA, Pat (Jack) Deats of Tioga, PA, and Sonia Gunnip of Westfield, PA; Edward (Shirley) Webster of Mansfield, PA, Ronald (Twyla) Webster of Nampa, ID, Sylvia (Mark) Stager of Mansfield, PA, Kathleen (Donald) Albright of Newville, PA, and Debra (Douglas) Steadman of Attica, NY; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond in 1982, second husband, Dean Short in 1985, third husband, Donald Webster in 2008; a son, Donald Jones, a son Raymond Jones, a daughter and son-in-law Mary Jane and Richard Smith, and a son-in-law Ed Haslund; three brothers, William, Oswald, and Charles Button; sister Martha Colabine; and a granddaughter Shawna Smith. Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday November 1, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Cheryl Filson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, 7 Sherwood Street, Mansfield, PA 16933.
