I knew Bob mainly through his wife Debbie and through his wonderful music. But I especially enjoyed talking with him about birds. An avid birder, Bob fed the birds and knew more than anyone else I know about the birds in this area. We sometimes shared our sightings of favorite birds. He introduced me to the term "RBGB," referring to rose-breasted grosbeaks. I will never forget Bob's kind and gentle voice. Whenever I see an "RBGB," I will think of him.
