Obituary of Claire Heaps
Claire Leona (Stout) Heaps, age 89 of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at her home. She was born August 14, 1933, in Renovo, PA, a daughter of Harry and Eloise Stout. Claire is the widow of the late Dr. John "Doc" Heaps and attended the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield. She enjoyed cooking and baking for the family, caring for children, spending time with animals, bird watching, crossword puzzles, working out at Curves, and watching the soap opera The Young and the Restless.
Claire is survived by her son Curt (Debra) Heaps of Mansfield, PA; daughter Julie (Edward) Lenhardt of Elmira, NY; grandchildren Lance, Jessica, Alyssa, and Sarah; step-grandchildren, Jason, and Jordayn; great grandchildren Rylan and Skylee; and brother Harry Stout Jr. of Mill Hall, PA. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. John Heaps; son Stan Heaps; sisters Gladys Kepler, Kathryn Poorman, and Betty Granheim; brother Leslie Stout; step-grandson Kyle Lenhardt; half-brother Kenneth Jones.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 18 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 637 South Main, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 19 at 11:00 AM at the Mansfield United Methodist Church, 67 East Wellsboro Street, Mansfield PA, with Rev. Edward Preston officiating.
