Obituary of Larry C. Haynes

Larry C. Haynes, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 30, 2022, at We Care Nursing Facility in Loyalsock, PA. He lived in South Williamsport for 4 years, and was also a resident of Morris Run, PA for 55 years. Larry was born on March 1, 1939, in Johnstown, PA, a son of Charles and Helen (Brant) Haynes. He worked as a welder at JP Ward Manufacturing in Blossburg, PA, and was member of the Covington Baptist Church for over 60 years. Larry enjoyed sharing his garden vegetables with the members of the church and serving the church as an usher and a trustee. He also enjoyed the outdoors and loved to tie flies and fly fish, as well as going hunting with his beagle, Brandy. Larry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilda; daughters, Holly (Roger) Myers of Dillsburg, PA, and Melissa (Rick) Johnson of Williamsport; five grandchildren, Kelsy, Jared, Ben, Lindsey and Nicholas; six great grandchildren; a brother, Denton Haynes of Johnstown. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dale Haynes of Johnstown. Family and friends are invited to call from 11:00 a.m. to noon on Friday, January 6, 2022, at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor Dennis Rew officiating.
