The first time I met Sandy was in 3rd grade at Winfield Elementary School. My prominent memory from that time was being release from school to attend Church school at 1st Baptist Church. It was always a race to see who could get from the school to the church first; Sandy and her sister Donna always won, (I kind a let them win, lol). I remember the good times we shared at Northside Middle School and being proud of the way she carried and protected our flag for the West High School Honor Guard, she was a true patriot. We lost contact after graduation but fortunately were able to reconnect through social media years later. Sandy never changed. She was the kindest and most giving person I have ever known. I remember her posting on Facebook during the pandemic for anyone seeking help to please contact her for assistance for their needs. That was symbolic of her very generous nature, to help anyone in need. I know that Sandy trusted in the Lord Jesus, and was the kind of Christian we should all be, as evident through her words, actions, and beliefs. I will always treasure our friendship and the beautiful quilt and tote bag she laboriously made for me just prior to her illness. I regret not being able to see her and thank her one last time, not to say good-by but to say: “see you-latter”, (because Heaven awaits). God’s peace be with you Sandy, and his grace with your family.

God may not have healed you the way we wanted Him to but He healed you the way He needed to. He gave you peace and put your arms around your daughter again, for that we are grateful. We love you Sandy and will miss you terribly until we see you again in Heaven.

My best friend, Hope, married her son Jeff. I got to meet Sandy when I came up to NY for the wedding as the Matron of Honor. I was in awe of Sandy and Hope’s relationship. Sandy and Hope created a bond like I have never seen a mother/daughter-in-law form. Sandy was such a happy person so full of love and life. She easily had everyone around her filled with laughter and joy. There was no such thing as a dull moment when Sandy was around. I am so honored to have met Sandy. Please accept my condolences. I will keep the family in my prayers .
