I only knew John through his work - meaning his films and the DVD 'extras' that go with them. I have hesitated to leave a note here, because I didn't know him personally, and so perhaps it's not my place. But like many other fans, I FELT as tho I knew him, and hearing he had died was shocking and very painful for me. I would like for his family, especially Mark and Melissa, to know that John was loved, and is mourned, by many people who never met him. He brought a lot of pleasure to a lot of people in the too short time he had alloted. :/ Cindy

I am so shocked to learn of John's passing. I've known him since my employment at CBT '83-'89. He was always so cheerful and always had time to say Good Morning & Hello when I went into BiLo. A sad loss. Love & prayers to his wife, son, Guy & Louise & family.

I worked with JJ at Bilo back in the 90s and I have to say what a great man! When I first starting working at Bilo, I didnt know much about how the store worked. JJ was the guy to go to. He was easy going and if you had a question he was happy to help you out. He really made it easy for the new guy on the block. On break, JJ would generally interject with an opinion or with something comical, especially when it was against our Bakery Department friends Russ Riddel and Tim Fermenic or when ol Ben would come up with something off the wall. This was all in fun of course, and JJ made the monotony of the regular work day go so much smoother. I am so sorry and saddened for JJ and his family. I wish them the best. The World certainly lost out the day JJ passed.

I didn't know John in person but I heard many a tale and the kind of person he was through his good friend Brian Berry, so it was very sad to hear of his passing,my sympathies go out to his family and dear friends, I leave you with a poetry tribute by me in the words of John. God Bless x Still and quiet waters Run so very deep, God came and took me But please do not weep, For I am here always Pictures in your mind, The memories of all Ive done, From you will not be blind. The movie screen That was my life Will always be in view, My world in pictures Will never die I will always be here for you. So dont give up On all we hoped for, All we dreamed to be In spirit I will still be here So let the memory, Live on daily In your hearts When dawns a brand new day, Wipe the tears From your face, And live your life I pray. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

We only knew John at the store, but had good conversations with him. We had hoped that his love of making movies would take him far in that field. He was always a joy to converse with and his smile was infectious. Our most sincere sympathy to all the family. Our prayers are with you.

I have known and worked in film with John since 1992. He was one of the kindest, decent, most intelligent person I have ever had the pleasure to meet and get to know. My sincerest, heartfelt condolences go out to his entire family at their loss. John was a good soul and a pleasure to be around. When I would run into him at Bi-lo we would talk and I will always remember those times. On film sets he was a joy. He loved his family very much and I will never forget that one of the warmest human beings to walk the planet let me be his friend. I will miss you John and I will never forget you.

I just heard the news from my daughter, Sheila and wanted to extend my deepest sympathies to the entire family. I worked with John at Bi-Lo for many years and he was such a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed listening to his stories about his film making and even helped him with one by making the rabbit suit. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. May God be with the entire family at this time.

I have some very fond memories of our times in high school. John and Mark were real cut ups in school that is what made school so fun. May God give you comfort in this difficult time. Sorry i can't make the funeral but i live in Georgia.
