Obituary of Floyd Williammee
Floyd S. Williammee, age 90, of Morris, PA, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at his century family farm surrounded by his family. He was born on June 3, 1930 in Morris, PA, the son of Corliss and Olive (Thompson) Williammee. Floyd grew up during the Great Depression and was a hard working man who could find value in everything. He worked in maintenance for Blossburg State Hospital, Jersey Shore Hospital, and Witt Nursing Home and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War. Floyd spent every spring tapping maple trees and making maple syrup. In recent years, he was excited that his family decided to continue making maple syrup on the farm. He enjoyed anything sweet and believed maple sugar made the "best cup of coffee." During his "retirement" years, Floyd could be found tinkering around his old family farm, cutting firewood, mowing grass, feeding and talking to the wildlife, working on projects around his home, or sitting on a bench watching the cars go by. He was a member of Forrest Fire Warden in Tioga, PA and Democratic Committee Man.
Floyd is survived by his three daughters, Sarah A. Williammee of Morris, PA, Mary Jackson of Morris, PA, and Joan (Wayne) Staron of Liberty, PA; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Broughton of Morris, PA, Edward Speary of Wellsboro, PA, Willis Speary of Mansfield, PA, Sheldon Staron of Williamsport, PA, Wesley Speary of Pittsburgh, PA, Matthew (Cassandra) Jackson of Morris, PA, and Skyler Staron of Liberty, PA; four great grandchildren, Harley (Missy) Kilmer, Cooper Broughton, Cassandra Broughton, and Hunter Staron. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Floyd S. Williammee; and his siblings, Lillian Rice, Doris Davis, and Corliss Williammee.
A private memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Morris Fire Department, 1993 Route 287 Morris, PA 16938. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
