Obituary of Mary Jo Jones
Mary Jo Jones, age 54, of Mansfield, PA, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Mary Jo was born December 1, 1953 in New Castle, PA, a daughter of Robert and Helen Louise (Reinhard) French. She was the wife of Benjamin Jones with whom she celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on September 7th. Mary Jo was employed as an Associate to the Provost at Mansfield University. She was a member of the Catholic Church, past president and member of the Mansfield VFW Post 675 Ladies Auxiliary, past vice president of the Local AFSCME Union at Mansfield University. Mary Jo loved dancing, blue grass music, and gardening. Her grandchildren were her passion.
Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Ben; two sons and daughters-in-law, Benjamin Colter and Michelle Jones of New Bloomfield, PA, Daniel Zachary Jones and Adrienne Asbury of Knoxville, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Elizabeth and Richard Stevens of Charlotte, NC; her mother, Helen Louise of New Castle, PA; eight grandchildren, Catherine, Ardy, Nate, Delia, Adelaide, Danny, Mary, and Cora; a brother, Robert Mark French of New Castle, PA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen Anne McAnallen of New Castle, PA, Gladys and Louis Ferrara of New Castle, PA; four aunts and three uncles. She was predeceased by a brother, Brian French, and her father, Robert French.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Additional calling hours will be held at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory in New Castle, PA on Thursday, November 13, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marys Church, New Castle, PA on Friday, November 14, 2008. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, New Castle, PA.
