Obituary of Winifred G. Neff

Winifred G. "Winnie" Neff, age 92, of Wellsboro, formerly of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Carleton Nursing Home. She was born on June 4, 1926 in Renovo, PA, a daughter of Ivan and Mary (Lucas) Swoyer. Prior to her retirement Winnie had been employed at Mansfield University in the English Department. She was a member of the Red Hatters Society in Mansfield and an advisor of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority at MU. Winnie was an avid quilter and enjoyed presenting her writings at the Gmeiner Art Center in Wellsboro, PA. She is survived by a son, Michael Dean (Connie Judson Myal) Neff of Troy, PA; two grandchildren Elizabeth Ann (Paul) Sotoudeh, Kyle Dwight (Kara Constantine) Neff. She was preceded in death by her parents and a longtime companion and colleague Wellington "Clark" Engel. In honoring Winnie's wishes there will be no services.
