Words do not adequately convey my sorrow for the loss Sherry's family and friends must certainly feel. I am very, very thankful to have been able to know Lance and Sherry for the last 20 years. I will especially treasure the conversations we had and Sherry's example to me of what love of God and faith in him truly looks like in everyday living. I most admire her positive spirit, strength of character and love of others, especially her family and close friends. I will carry that treasure of her in my heart always. I pray for God's strength, love and comfort to infuse the hearts of those who have known and loved her and pray it carry them through this difficult time.

"If there's anything I can do, please let me know." It's what we say because there really isn't much else to say. It's a way to show someone how much you'd like for them not to be hurting - offer some kind of comfort. So, how do I then answer that? Dad (Lance Allen), Tim Allen, Samantha Van Kirk Allen, Jack Witmer, and I have talked about how comforting it's been having so many people offer their condolences, send prayers and love, or share their emotions and memories of Mom. One shared memory came from a dear friend that said Mom gave her and her husband an unexpected gift at a time when their family really needed it. That gift was very inspirational and has encouraged them to lead a life where they are equally as giving - paying it forward when they have opportunities. How wonderful it is knowing that Mom was part of that journey! So, now I know how to answer the question, "What can I do?" I want you to pay it forward. If you and and your family were feeling inclined to bring flowers to Mom's service, buy a perennial instead and plant it in her honer. Look at it every year when it blooms and think of her. Mom wouldn't have wanted a whole bunch of flowers at her service, sitting around for a day or two, then being thrown out! Better yet, instead of flowers or a plant, do something for someone else and have it be in Mom's honor - make a donation to a worthy charity; give a little extra in your collection plate; take your mother, wife, sister, daughter, or friend out for dinner or a movie; go for an extra long motorcycle ride; surprise someone with an unexpected gift; send words of encouragement to someone that is struggling; care for a friend's child without asking for anything in return; gather with family a little longer. Whatever you choose, do it out of love and think of Mom. Honor her memory and comfort her family by paying it forward in some way. Share your experience with us, not to seek glory or praise, but to comfort. Knowing that Mom's giving spirit continues to spread and touch others, is one of the greatest comforts to me at this time. I am humbled knowing how much her life meant to so many people!

I am sending much love and many prayers to all of you. Wish I could be there. I have never thought of Sherry as my "sister-in law", I have ALWAYS considered her my sister. There is nothing I can say to make the sadness and heartbreak go away, but take comfort that she's with Jesus and we will all see her again one day!! She was an AMAZING woman full of life, love, understanding, compassion, joy and amazing spirit. She was strong and I have never seen her look defeated. Jennifer and Johnathan send their love! Love you guys!!!

I am so sorry for the loss of Sherry. My condolences to the families. Know Tink all my life, and the loss of a child is surely unbearable. To the Allen family, the loss of a loved one so young has to be very hard. Prayers that God gives you all the strength to form together & share your grief.

Sherry was truly a treasure on this earth - a wonderful Mother, wife, caregiver and angel who lived among us. Truly anyone who knew this amazing woman has lost a piece of everything good in this world. Jessica, Tim and Lance, I hope that you find some comfort in knowing that she touched the heart of every person who ever met her, and even though she was taken from you all too soon, every last bit of her time here on this earth was a blessing to anyone who knew her. My love and prayers to all of you and your families.
