Obituary of Robert H. Gerg
Robert H. "Bob" Gerg, II, age 70, of Mansfield, PA, departed this life on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home. He was born October 4, 1946 in Erie, PA, a son of Robert H. Sr. and Phyllis (Hartland) Gerg. Bob was married to Lola (Funair) Gerg. He was a retired PA State Police Sergeant. After he retired from the State Police he worked at Ralph's Ford, and was a manager at Northern Tier Beverage. Bob was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield; enjoyed hunting, golfing, camping and wood working. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Vietnam.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lola; a daughter and son-in-law, Darice and Kenneth Cobb of Mansfield, PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Lindsay Gerg of Beaverton, OR; 7 grandchildren, Dylan (Philip) Davis, Taylor Sember, Galen Baker, Aliah Baker, Katherine Gerg, Brayden Gerg, and Sonja Gerg; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Michael Drexler of Linesville, PA. He was predeceased by a sister, Paula Straub.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield with Rev. Bryan Wright as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Blossburg, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
