Obituary of Harold White
Harold R. White, age 81, of Gillett, PA, died on Monday, January 12, 2015 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Born on July 9, 1933 in Lebanon, PA, he was the son of Walter and Josephine (Peffley) White. Harold was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Ford) White in 2009.
Prior to his retirement, Harold was employed as a clinical chemist with Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown, PA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and playing his saxophone. Harold was a member of the American Legion Post 167 of Morris Run, the American Association of Clinical Chemists and the Lions Club where he was honored as the Wells Jackson Lion of the Year for 2001-2002.
Harold is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Walter and Gretchen White of Matthews, NC; two daughters and one son-in-law, Cynthia Louise and David Steele of Birdsboro, PA, Gwendolyn Dawn White of Sterling Heights, MI; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Sandy White of Lebanon, PA and two grandchildren, Andrew Steele and Margaret Joan White. In addition to his wife, Joan, he was also predeceased by a brother, George White.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
