Obituary of Norman R. Shearer

Norman R. Shearer, age 84 of Wellsboro, PA, died Saturday, November 2, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 11, 1929 in Hummelstown, PA, a son of Christian and Laura (Leber) Shearer. Norman celebrated 65 years of marriage to Lois J. (Clare) Shearer on June 29th, 2013. He was employed at the Hershey Chocolate Factory for 44 years retiring as production supervisor. Norman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wellsboro; the Nessmuk Gun Club; lifetime member of the N.R.A.; and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, hiking and camping. Norman is survived by his wife, Lois of Wellsboro, PA; 2 daughters, Julie Shearer of Harrisburg, PA, Tracey Lynne (Bryan) Moses of Woonsocket, RI, a son, Andrew David (Kim) Shearer of Hershey, PA; grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Caitlin, Andrea and Kristina; 4 great grandchildren, Abby, Keely, Nick and Dayton. He was predeceased by 2 sons, Stephen Michael Shearer in 1948, and Norman Christian Shearer in 1953; 10 brothers and sisters. Services will be private with Rev. Glen Hallead officiating.
