Obituary of Harry F. Youmans
Harry F. Youmans, age 74, of Mansfield, PA, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Harry was born May 6, 1939 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Harry W. and Frances (Smith) Youmans. He would have celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary with his wife, Ann (Wilson) Youmans on August 31st. Harry served 8 years in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the Mansfield Ambulance Association and attended the Bakerburg Community Church. Harry had been employed by Garrison's Men's Shop, K. House and Son Lumber Co., Blossburg, Ward Manufacturing, Blossburg, and owned Hillview on East Avenue in Wellsboro, PA. After his retirement, Harry worked for Benedict's Bus Service as an all-purpose driver, Head Start Bus Service, E.M.T.A. and Buckheit Funeral Chapel. Harry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Harry is survived by his wife, Ann; a daughter, Denise (Jeff Bennett) Ayers of Mansfield, PA; a son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Debra Youmans of Montrose, PA; a special son-in-law, Jerry Ayers of Mansfield, PA; a sister, Janice Cappelli of Wellsboro, PA; 11 grandchildren, Nathan, Dakkari, Brittany, Erin, Alexa, Casey, Kyle, Abby Eli, Connor and Logan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Philip and Annabel Wilson; special dogs, Bandit and Lady. Harry was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn Scott in 1994, and his parents, Harry W. and Frances Youmans.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, September 2, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA and Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 11:00 A.M. to Noon at Bakerburg Community Church, Mainesburg, PA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Noon at the Bakerburg Community Church with Pastor David Dressler officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA with full military honors presented by the Tioga County Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made in Harry's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the Mansfield Ambulance Association, 381 S.
