Obituary of Jane L. Wilcox
Jane Bower Wilcox, 89, a native of Cogan Station, PA, and a long-time resident of Covington, PA, died peacefully at The Green Home, Wellsboro, PA on August 8, 2013. Jane was born April 6, 1924, a daughter of Basil Merton Bower and Inez (Bair) Bower. She and the late Duane C. Wilcox, her husband of 50 years, lived in Covington with their six children. Jane also lived several years in Florida before returning to Pennsylvania in 2007. She was a member of the Cherry Flats Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters Carolyn of South Williamsport and her special friend Richard Mann of Danbury, CT; Connie and son-in-law Matthew Horne of State College; sons Duane of Newark, OH; William of Covington and his special friend Joann Banik of Wellsboro; Randy and daughter-in-law Teresa of Baldwinsville, NY; seven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by husband Duane who died in 1991; son Gary of San Francisco, CA who died in 2002; sisters Alberta Wright and Beatrice Bower, and brother Raymond Bower.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, August 13, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dennis Crumb of Stony Fork, PA officiating. Burial will be at Gray Cemetery in Covington. The family requests that contributions in lieu of flowers be made in Jane's memory to the Cherry Flats Baptist Church, P O Box 174, Mansfield, PA 16933. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
