Obituary of Dennis T. Deats
Dennis T. Deats, age 60, of Lawrenceville, PA, died May 19, 2013 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Dennis was born July 16, 1952 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Donald "Ted" and Avis (Deming) Deats. He was married to Deborah (Paris) Deats for 38 years. He owned and operated Deats and Son Excavating. Dennis was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Lawrenceville, PA. He was instrumental in building the Cinderella Softball Field, enjoyed coaching girls softball and basketball at Williamson for 9 years. He was a member of the men's Mushball League since it started. Dennis enjoyed hunting, trapping, spending time on his John Deere equipment and helping others.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Deborah; his father "Ted" Deats of Lawrenceville, PA; 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Kara Deats, Elmira, NY, Katie and Shawn McDonough of Elmira, NY, Krista Deats of Lawrenceville, PA; a granddaughter, Shalaney Avis McDonough; a brother, Michael (Mary Gay) Deats of Middlebury Center, PA; in-laws, Sharon (David) Richards of Charlotte, NC, Fred (Sandi) Paris of Corning, NY, Roberta (Roz) Steadman of Elmira, NY, Barbara (Jerry) Wilber of Elmira, NY, Jolene (Steve) Tomlinson of Painted Post, NY, Paula (Ed) Bolt of Tioga, PA and Kelly (Randy) Jelliff of Tioga, PA; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Allen Hulslander officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Tioga, PA.
