Obituary of S. John Bennett
S. John Bennett, age 85, of Grover, PA, died on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at his home. Born on January 13, 1928 in Farmington Twp., he was the son of Howard and Mae (Hackett) Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Eloise (Dibble) Cole Bennett.
Prior to his retirement, John was employed as a gasket maker with Dresser Rand. He enjoyed tinkering with cars and tractors, watching his westerns and collecting belt buckles. John was a WWII US Navy veteran.
In addition to his wife, Eloise, John is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Nancy Bennett of Osceola, PA, Alan and Susan Bennett of Elkland, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Wallace Kemp of Nelson, PA; two step sons and daughter-in-law, Robert and Brenda Cole of Roaring Branch, PA, Gregory Cole of Norwalk, CN; four step daughters and sons-in-law, Lynnette and Michael Neupauer of Williamsport, PA, Nancy and David Cahill of Fort Mojave, AZ, Terri and Robert Hoops of Easton, PA, Lauri Pagano of Norwalk, CN; a special daughter, Dottie Seeley of Canton, PA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Bennett of Freeman, NY, Elon and Linda Bennett of Westfield, PA, Bruce and Grace Bennett of Elkland, PA; two sisters, Ina Chambers of Wellsboro, PA, Doris Cowell of Jobs Corners, PA; sisters-in-law, Carol Dibble of Canton, PA, Brenda Bower of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law, Reese Dibble of Sun Valley, ID, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 3:00 PM at the funeral chapel with Rev. Duane Taylor officiating.
