Obituary of Arthur N. Abreu

Arthur N. Abreu, age 87, of Mansfield, PA, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 8, 1925 in Lowell, MA, he was the son of Antonio N. and Caroline C. (Camara) Abreu. Arthur was predeceased by his wife, M. June (Burt) Abreu on November 7, 2012. Prior to his retirement, Arthur was employed as a supervisor with Tyoga Container Co., Inc. in Tioga, PA. He enjoyed going for walks on Main St., spending time with his grandchildren and playing the horses. Arthur was a US Army veteran. Arthur is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Abreu of Troy, PA, Patricia and Scott Doud of Mainesburg, PA; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Doris Abreu of FL, a sister, Carolina Dubay of CN; two grandchildren, Tyler S. and Brittany M. Doud; a sister-in-law, Mary Abreu of Lowell, MA and special caregivers; Katie McMullen, Barb Groover, Carol Tice, Gail Whitney and Annie Aumick. In addition to his wife, June, he was also predeceased by a brother, Louis Abreu. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass for Arthur on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church, 38 Central Ave., Wellsboro, PA, with Rev. John Chmil officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Arthur's name to Guthrie Hospice, 421 Tomahawk St., Towanda, PA 18848. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA.
