Obituary of Belle B. Reese
Belle B. (Harris) Reese, age 86, of Millerton, PA, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at her residence. Born on February 10, 1926 in Lawrenceville, PA, she was the daughter of Franklin W. and Bertha May (Kelly) Harris. Belle was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Doyen Reese on December 1, 1997. Prior to her retirement, Belle was employed as a nurses aide for St. Josephs Hospital in Elmira, NY, and Broad Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wellsboro, PA. During World War II, she was employed with the Remington Rand Company. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of Christ in Horseheads, NY. Belle was a member of the NRA and enjoyed gardening, bus trips, writing poetry, baking and cooking. She loved her family and her church.
Belle is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth E. Reese of Duanesburg, NY, John K. and Susan L. Reese of Millerton, PA; three daughters and a son-in-law, Stella Marie Sill of Ithaca, NY, Marie R. Kelly of Saginaw, TX, Katherine and Paul Joseph Lowe of Elkland, PA; two sisters, Helen Jeanette Makin of Painted Post, NY, Thelma Gardner of Beaver Dams, NY; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, Belle was also predeceased by three brothers, Franklin Harris Jr., Charles L. Harris and an infant, Charlie Harris; one sister, Gladys Harris; a granddaughter, Sarah Lowe Clark; 3 great grandsons, Xzavier Scott Clark and infant twins. She was also predeceased by her two beloved dachshunds.
A private memorial service will be held for Belle at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Church of Christ, Westinghouse Road, Horseheads, NY, 14845.
