Obituary of Roger W. Burns
Roger W. Burns, age 70, of Mansfield, PA, died on Monday, December 17, 2012 at his residence. Roger is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandra K. (Anthony) Burns. Born on November 7, 1942 in Washington, PA, he was the son of Wilfred and Gertrude (Jones) Burns.
Prior to his retirement, Roger was employed in the logistics department with Lockheed Martin Company. From the 1970s until the 1980s, he managed the Mansfield Agway. Roger received a BS degree from Penn State University where he was a member of Delta Theta Sigma fraternity. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, Roger is survived by two daughters, Michele Fenstermacher of Mansfield, PA and Melissa Terase of Cocoa, FL and their spouses, Miles Fenstermacher and Robert Terase; one son, Bryan Burns of Cocoa, FL , and his spouse Michelle Anderson-Ryan; one sister, Carolyn Carmen of St. Petersburg, FL; 13 grandchildren, Samantha, Meagan, Olyvia, Hayden, Everett, Maranda, Sophia, Victoria, Mickey, Wayne, Josh, Sydney, Kelsey and 7 great grandchildren, Gavin, Shawna, Jacob, Mason, Jess, Taylor and Kylie. Roger was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Scherick.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Rogers life at the Bear Track Inn, 203 E. Main Street, Westfield, PA on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rogers memory to the Alzheimers Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
