Obituary of Salvadore Sciss
Salvadore Sciss, age 93, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at his home in Lawrenceville, PA surrounded by his loving family. Salvadore was born on April 8, 1919 in Easton, PA, a son of Thomas and Consetta (Griffo) Sciss. He was married to Estelle (Stanley) Sciss for 67 years. Salvadore had been employed by a Regal Paper Mill in Milford, NJ. He attended Elkland Independent Baptist Church. His favorite pastimes were boxing, baseball, hunting, fishing and working on cars. Salvadore was a WWII US Army veteran.
Salvadore is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Kathi Sciss of Lawrenceville, PA, a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Herb Shackleton of Pompano Beach, FL, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Lester (Eleanor) Sciss, Nicholas (Helen) Sciss, all of Upper Black Eddy, PA; a sister Anna Jesiolowski of Doylestown, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Sciss, in August of 2008, two great grandchildren, Tara Sciss and Morgan Rizzo
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Ball officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Tioga County Honor Guard. Burial will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Charleston Twp., Mansfield, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
