Obituary of Rose Bianconi
Rose C. Bianconi, age 84, of Ithaca, NY, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Carleton Senior Care, in Wellsboro, PA. Born on October 10, 1927 in Crete Twp., IL, she was the daughter of John and Clara (Manthy) Fredericksen. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Louis J Bianconi on April 14, 2006.
She attended Crete Monee High school and graduated as a member of the National Honor Society.
She served in various positions for the PTA including Secretary and President. She served similarly for the VFW and Purple Heart auxiliarys and was President of the Steger Flower Club for an extended period.
Prior to her retirement, Rose was employed with School District 194 in Steger as Head of the school lunch program.
In retirement she took up golf and oil painting and also enjoyed fishing with her brother John.
Rose is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Penny Bianconi of Ithaca, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and John Darlington of Ireland; three grandchildren: Michael, Christy, Melissa and two great grandchildren, Natalie and William.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
