Obituary of Richard D. Prutsman
Richard Damon Prutsman, Sr., (Bun), 93, of Millerton, PA passed away in his home on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. Richard was born in Roseville, PA on their family farm July 20, 1918 and worked on the farm until 1966 where he was a 5th generation farmer in Rutland Township. After leaving the family farm in 1967, he went on to work for American LaFrance where he worked on the Final Assembly Line. His years at American LaFrance ended after he retired in 1983. He then moved with his wife, Eleanor Prutsman, to Florida where he lived for several years.
Richard was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Eleanor (Bradt) Prutsman of Elmira, NY; his parents, Austin Damon (Mable White) Prutsman; sister, Marian Scott; step-brother, Leland Lamphier; and daughter, Carol Lee Prutsman of Roseville, PA 1942-1943. He is survived by wife of 3 years, Barbara Prutsman; children son, Richard (Diane) Prutsman, and daughter, Diane (Thomas) Leflam; grandchildren, Carolyn (Clint) Sherman, Marilyn (Steve) Kriesher, Lisa (Chris) Cabana, David (Denise) Bresiger, Damon (Renee) Prutsman, Felicia (Chaes) DAndrea, and Rachael (Marc) Landolf; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Richard was a very happy, outgoing and loving man. He loved spending time with his family, helping on the family farm, was a member of the Mansfield Masons, loved dancing, playing shuffle board, doing puzzles and playing cards.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from Noon to 2:00 P.M. at
Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Harold Burrell officiating. Burial will be in Roseville Community Cemetery, Roseville, PA.
