Obituary of Wesley E. Hoover
Wesley Ernest Hoover, age 92, formerly of Maple Hill, PA and Corning, NY, rose to glory on April 19th, 2012 at Absolut Care Three Rivers, Painted Post, NY. Wesley was born on March 18, 1920 in Harveys Lake, PA, a son of the late Richard and Della Mae (Hummel) Hoover. He was the husband of the late Grace (Merola-Tombasco). Wes retired from Corning, Inc. after 35 years of service. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Army while stationed in the Philippines. Wesley enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, WWF wrestling, western movies and tinkering about his house.
He is survived by his beloved family: a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald (Pauline), Keeneyville, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonita (John) Jankowski, Elmira, NY, Doreen (Gary) Burnside, Tioga, PA; two step-children, Angela (John) Fratercangelo, Corning, NY and Peter (Patti) Tombasco, Chicago, IL; 12 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Wesley was predeceased by brothers, Richard Harold Hoover, David Hoover, sisters Virginia Dissinger, Leona (Sally) Eichelburger and nephews, Kirby Hoover and Gary Hoover.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following the calling hour at 3:00 PM with Pastor Debbie Button officiating with full military honors by the Tioga County Honor Guard. Interment will be in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY. A dinner will follow at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 6 Broad Street, Tioga, PA.
