Obituary of Donald Paul Getola

Donald Paul Getola, age 76, of Troy, PA, died on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Donald was born on July 2, 1935 in Elmira, NY, the son of Nicholas and Kathryn (White) Getola. He is survived by his wife, Connie (Harkness) Getola. Prior to his retirement, Donald was a defense contractor with the federal governments Department of Defense. He was a member of St. Johns Church in Troy, PA and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and girls softball. Donald was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the US Marine Corps. In addition to his wife, Connie, Donald is survived by two sons, Shawn Getola of Troy, PA, Nick Getola of Ogdensburg, PA; two daughters, Kim Getola of Troy, PA, Kellie Cox of TN; one brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Peg Getola of Elmira, NY; a half brother, Henry Hank Glowaski of Elmira, NY; three granddaughters, Riley Getola, Melissa and Karrie Cox; a special niece, Teresa Lee, and several nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his grandfather and grandmother, John and Rena White, and his parents. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 3:00 PM at the funeral chapel.
