Obituary of Phyllis M. Robinson
Phyllis M. Robinson, age 74, of Mansfield, PA, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport, PA. Phyllis was born December 4, 1937 in Wellsville, NY, a daughter of Francis and Frances (Edwards) Morton. She attended Wellsboro-Charleston Schools and graduated from American School, Chicago, IL with a Medical Secretarial Science degree. She received certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA), and Medical Assistant (CMA), and medical office management. Her work experience in the medical field included positions in Wellsboro, PA, Elmira, NY and Virginia Beach, VA. She was past Charleston P.T.A. President and a Whitneyville Methodist Youth Fellowship leader. Phyllis volunteered at St. Josephs Hospital in Elmira, NY and at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro, PA. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast. In 2005 she worked as Program Coordinator at Mansfield Senior Center and wrote Senior Moments in the Wellsboro Gazette. When asked how she would like to be remembered, she said, I hope my children feel that I was a good mother.
Phyllis is survived by a son, William E. (Alison Barlow) Robinson of Mansfield, PA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Vicky Anderson of Mansfield, PA, JoAnn and David Williams of Kingsport, TN; a brother, Paul Morton of AR; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Kathi and John Semiklose and Carol Whitney, all of Mansfield, PA; 5 grandchildren, Brad, April, Matt, Brooke and Stefanie; 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Leon Morton, a sister, Marian Harris, and her former husband and father of her children, Robert E. Robinson.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 11, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Monday, March 12, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held following the viewing at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Diehl and Rev. William R. Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Whitneyville Cemetery.
