Obituary of William Albert Sokoly

William Albert Sokoly, Sr., age 86, of Wellsboro, PA, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. William was born November 20, 1925 in Weimer, PA, a son of Frank and Elizabeth (Sabo) Sokoly. He was the husband of Emma (Corrinne) Sokoly. William was employed by Ward Manufacturing for 18 years, worked as a coal miner, truck driver, strip miner, and brick yard employee. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during WWII. William enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. William is survived by his wife, Emma of Wellsboro, PA; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Sokoly, Jr. of AZ, Randy and Brenda Sokoly of Blossburg, PA; five daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey and Edward Aikens of Clymer, PA, Elizabeth Betty Geneva of Indiana, PA, Willivene and Wayne Miller of Indiana, PA, Linda and Harold Berguson of Arnot, PA, Frances and Rex Wood of Fellsmore, FL; 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; a special granddaughter, Lexi; a sister and brother-in-law, Lena and John Gaydosh of Clymer, PA and his canine companion, Daisy. William was predeceased by 5 brothers, Frank, Anthony, John, Lewis and Steve; 2 sisters, Margaret Emmett and Elizabeth Dingus; 1 grandson, Edward Aikens, Jr.; 1 son-in-law, Michael Geneva. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Father John Chmil officiating. Burial will be in Church of the Resurrection, Clymer, PA.
