Obituary of Thelma M. Butler
Thelma M. Peanny (Heck) Butler, age 80, of Tioga, PA, died on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Born on July 30, 1931 in Wellsboro, PA, she was the daughter of Albert and Genevieve (Gaylord) Heck. Thelma is survived by her husband, Paul Butler. Prior to her retirement, Thelma was employed as a laborer with Ingersoll Rand Company. She enjoyed puzzles, socializing and crafts.
In addition to her husband, Paul, Thelma is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and JoAnn Butler of Bebe, AR, Albert and Lisa Butler of Lexington, SC; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Donald Leister of Lynchburg, VA, Karen and Tony Maio of Corning, NY, Carmen and Darwin McCombs of Jackson Summitt, PA, Christal Tew of Corning, NY; one daughter-in-law, Anita Butler of Tioga, PA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Pat Heck of Middlebury, PA, Gordon and Charlotte Heck of Liberty, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thelma was predeceased by two sons, Gregory Lynn Butler in 2007, Jeffrey Butler in 1987; one infant daughter Emma Jean Butler; three brothers, Gerald, Laverne and Wesley Heck and one sister, Florence Gill.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 2:00 PM at the funeral chapel with Rev. Steven Neff officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thelmas name to the Sweden Valley Manor, 1028 E. Second St., Coudersport, PA 16915.
