Obituary of Kay M. Bernstein
Kay Katie Bernstein, age 72, of Middlebury Center, PA, died on Monday, January 16, 2012 in Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Kay was born on July 13, 1939 in Middlebury, PA, the daughter of Samuel and Eileen (Clark) McInroy, II. She and her husband Frank Bernstein would have celebrated 24 years of marriage on May 28, 2012.
Prior to her retirement, Kay was employed as an Avon Representative. She was a member of HEAL and the Wellsboro United Methodist Church where she assisted with church correspondence and served as a church shepard. She enjoyed bird watching, fishing, cooking, eating organic food, flower gardening and especially meeting with visitors at her home.
In addition to her husband, Frank, Kay is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Diana and David Robinson of Wellsboro, PA; one son, Scott Turner of Middlebury, PA; two step sons and daughter-in-law, William and Jeanette Bernstein of Knoxville, PA, Robert Bernstein of Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clark and Lynette McInroy of Wheatland, WY, Samuel and Kay McInroy, III of Corning, NY; one sister, Jean Hagenbuch of Danville, PA; 7 grandchildren: Rachel (Rob Cleveland) Robinson, Rebeccah (Bill) Richner, Nate (Whitney) Robinson, Levi Turner, Sophia Bernstein, Derek Bernstein, Justin Bernstein; three great grandchildren, Natalie Cleveland, Wyatt and Nolan Richner and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Lynn McInroy.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Wellsboro United Methodist Church, Main and Queen Streets, Wellsboro, PA, with Rev. Val Rommell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Kay's name to the Wellsboro United Methodist Church, Main and Queen Streets, Wellsboro, PA 16901. Arrangements are entrusted to the Jacquelyn A.
