Obituary of Robert E. Kriner
Robert E. Kriner, age 88, of Blossburg, PA, died on Friday, January 6, 2012 in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Born on August 5, 1923 in Morris, PA, he was the son of Earl and Mina (Haker) Kriner. Robert was married to Ernestine (Patt) Kriner.
Prior to his retirement, Robert was employed as a carpenter for Arnot Building Supply in Mansfield, PA, JP Ward in Blossburg, PA, Ward LaFrance in Elmira, NY, and managed the Blossburg Bowling Alley. Robert served with the US Army during World War II. He was a member of the East Point Hunting Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.
In addition to his wife, Ernestine, Robert is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jann Kriner of Trucksville, PA, Don and Kay Kriner of LeRoy, NY, Joseph and Kathleen Kriner of Covington, PA; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Kenneth Kriner of Liberty, PA, Harold and Evette Kriner of Germany, Irvin and Marie Kriner of Williamsport, PA, Gerald and Judy Kriner of Elmira, NY; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Vera Ludwig of Williamsport, PA, Phyllis and Walter Earle, Jr. of Troy, PA; a sister-in-law, Alverta Kriner of Covington, PA; 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Ernest Kriner in 1948 and three brothers, Wilford, Paul and Howard Kriner.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 8, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 2:00 PM with the Rev. John J. Chmil officiating.
