Obituary of Alice J. Wood

Alice J. Wood, age 83, of Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, PA, formerly of Tioga, PA, died Saturday, December 10, 2011. Alice was born April 16, 1928 in Brookfield Twp., Tioga, PA, a daughter of William and Elvira (McPeak) Simmons. She was the wife of the late Elwin H. Mort Wood who died in 2005. Alice is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah Deb Jean and Paul Woodard of Shinglehouse, PA; Virginia Ginnie Kay Walker of Audubon Park, NJ ; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Elwin Mort Wood, two brothers, Elon and Ivan Simmons, two sisters, Emma Hughes and Elsie Mills, and a grandson, Robbie Putnam. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 P.M. with the Pastor Debbie Button officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
