Obituary of Albert E. Rice
Albert E. Butch Rice, Jr., age 63, of Mainesburg, PA, died on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at his residence. Albert was born on August 2, 1948 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of Albert E. and Betty (Tubbs) Rice, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Trusilla Trudy (Vargson) Rice. Prior to his retirement, Albert was employed for 40 years as a diesel mechanic/truck driver and shop foreman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Trudy, and his mother, Betty of Williamsport, PA, he is also survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Rory and Michelle Rice of Roseville, PA, Dale Rice of Mansfield, PA; two daughters and sons-in-law, Denise and Raymond Harding, Jr. of Arnot, PA, Samantha and Joe Philips of Fredericksburg, VA; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Margo Rice of Berwick, PA; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Catherine Patt of Williamsport, PA, Beverly and John Merkey of Stevens, PA, Diane and Charlie Plankenhorn of Williamsport, PA; 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Albert E. Rice, Sr. and his first wife, Donna Rice, in 1972.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 4:00 PM at the funeral chapel with Pastor George W. Ogden, Jr. officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Alberts memory to Guthrie Hospice, 1 Guthrie Square, Sayre, PA 18840 or the charity of ones choice.
