Obituary of Gordon L. Alexander
Gordon Alexander, age 84, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Gordon was born on July 17th, 1926 in Blackwell, PA, the son of Alvin and Mabel (Duffey) Alexander.
Gordon was a farmer and a retired truck driver. Gordon served in the Army as well as the Navy. Gordon enjoyed roller-skating, trains, cutting wood, rodeos, attending yard sales, watching westerns, history, farming, tractors, playing cards and most of all, spending time with his family. He also had a wonderful sense of humor.
Gordon is survived by his son, Bruce Alexander of Tioga, PA; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Gerald Wetherbee of Tioga, PA, Linda and David Stubblefield of Merrillville, IN, Sandra and Rick VanCise of Leavenworth, KS, Amy and Todd Oppel of Bigfork, MT; a son-in-law, Gerald Enderle of Tioga, PA; 19 grandchildren: Sarah, Rachel, Rebekah, Joyce, Chrissy,Melissa, Bethany, Amber, Tiffany, Jerry, Kayla, Hanna, Bruce Jr., Chance, Drew, Stephanie, Jason, Ashley, Devin and numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Beryl Smith and one brother-in-law, George Edwards. He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Alexander in 1980 and his daughter, Jane Enderle, in 2010 as well as 3 sisters and 3 brothers.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 24, 2011 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel,Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the funeral chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Buckheit Funeral Chapel to assist with funeral expenses. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Tioga, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
