Obituary of Mecislausa Helen Burdian

Mecislausa Mesha Helen (Derewianka) Burdian, age 91, of Mansfield, PA, died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Broad Acres Nursing Home in Charleston Township, PA. Mecislausa was born on May 24, 1915 in New York City, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Genevieve (Ostrowski) Derewianka. She was predeceased by her husband, William Burdian. Mecislausa was a homemaker who loved gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Holy Child Catholic Church. Mecislausa is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Elaine and James Cecere of Mansfield, PA, Donna and Angelo Della Pietra of Poughkeepsie, NY, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, William Joseph Burdian in 1991 and a sister, Adele deLorme. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 2, 2006 from 8:45 to 9:45 A.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Child Catholic Church on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. with The Rev. Albert Leonard as celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made in Mecislausas name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1132, Fairfax, VA 22038 specifically for New York State research.
