Obituary of Nancy Horning

Nancy E. Horning, age 85, of Mansfield, PA, died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA after a brief illness. She was born February 24, 1926 in Treherbert, South Wales, British Isles, to Frank and Emily Gardner. Nancy married her husband, John, in 1945. She followed him to the United States in 1946, entering this country as a war bride. Nancy is survived by daughters, Julie (Michael) Johnston of Arnot, PA, Ann West (George Baldwin) of Wellsboro, PA, Valerie Jeanne Fessenden of Wellsboro, PA; sisters, Emilie, Shirley, Barbara, all residing in South Wales, British Isles; granddaughter, Jennifer Johnston of Mifflinburg, PA; grandsons, Michael Andrew (Kate) Johnston of Williamsport, PA, Ryan West, Erich West, both of Wellsboro, PA; great-grandson, Joel Riviera-Johnston of Mifflinburg, PA. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, John, 4 brothers, 6 sisters, and a grandson, Matthew. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. There will be no prior visitation.
