Obituary of Ellsworth W. Rose
Ellsworth W. Rose, age 89, of Mansfield, PA, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. He was born September 23, 1921 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of William T. and Mary (Stocum) Rose. Ellsworth was the husband of Helen K. (Houser) Rose for 69 years. He retired from Corning Glass Works in Wellsboro in 1978. Ellsworth was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Wellsboro Masonic Lodge Ossea Lodge #317 A&M; served on the Wellsboro Boro Council, volunteered as an ambulance driver, enjoyed hunting, golfing, and was an avid fisherman.
Ellsworth is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Sherry Rose of TN, James W. and Pam Rose of Wellsboro, Terry L. and Kathy Rose of Wellsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Dave Tobias of Elkland; 7 grandchildren, Kimberly, Robin, Brian, Tim, Mike, Kelly and Chris; 9 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 11:00 A.M. to 12 Noon at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home with Rev. Steven C. Case officiating. Burial will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens, Mansfield, PA.
