Obituary of Charles Irvin Follis
(Chuck, Charlie) 1948-2011,
of Millerton, PA died Friday, April 15, 2011; born March 1, 1948 in Norwood, Mass to Ernest & Eula Follis (deceased). A devoted family man, Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Nance, of 34 years; his daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Wes Cole; granddaughter, Jessy Cole; step-grandson, Brandon Cole, great grandson, Braydon Cole; beloved dog, Rosey, and cat, Bubba; siblings: Natalie, James, Elaine, Donna, Richard (deceased) & Ernest Benjamin (deceased).
Chuck was a retired counselor from Laurel Youth Services, and bus driver for Bradford Tioga Head Start. He also welcomed Foster Children into his home and was a Big Brother mentor. Chuck was in the Army 101 Airborne serving during the Vietnam War. He served as the Post Commander at the Wellsboro VFW, was a member of American Legion and DAV. Chuck was known to many as a simple, kind, and spiritual man. He loved fishing, gardening, Bluegrass music festivals, hats, Scrabble, and his family. Chuck was a man of many stories and a few legends. He loved to tell stories. He knew and practiced that KINDNESS DOES MATTER .
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 3 to 5 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the viewing at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home
