Obituary of Carol Schwartz

Carol (Doriss) Schwartz, age 68, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Monday, February 28, 2011 in Chemung County, NY. Born on October 30, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Houston Stokes Doriss and Lucy Ziskind Doriss. Carol was predeceased by her husband, Lee Schwartz. Carol taught for many years at the Philadelphia Art Institute and later as an Art Professor with Pennsylvania College of Technology. She loved gardening, bird watching and rescueing cats and dogs. Carol is survived by a step daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Fred Davis of Willow Grove, PA; one step grandson, Michael Davis of Willow Grove, PA; one sister, Sandy Adams of Seattle,WA; three nephews, Robert (Rie) Schwartz of Courtlandt Manor, NY, Peter Schwartz of Allendale, NJ, Dr. David Adams of Maryland; two nieces, Natasha Schwartz of Brooklyn, NY, Julianne Adams of Seattle, WA; three great nephews: Hideo Schwartz, Ryoji Schwartz, David Schwartz and a great niece, Jenna Schwartz. A celebration of Carol Schwartz's life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA.
