Obituary of Sharon R. Franks

Sharon R. (Gee) Franks, age 68, of Tioga, PA, died on Sunday, January 23, 2011 in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA. Born on June 21, 1942 in Elkland, PA, Sharon was the daughter of Leon and Norma Ruth (Toles) Gee. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas A. Franks on July 20, 2004. Prior to her retirement, Sharon was employed in the housekeeping industry for various hotels and motels. She enjoyed crafts and needle work. Sharon is survived by five sons; Peter Rice of Tioga, PA, Ron (Stephen) Rice of Barefoot Bay, FL, Mark Rice of Tioga, PA, James (Lisa) Hurd of Tioga, PA, Ed Allen of Quinton, TN; one daughter, Tina Rice of Tioga, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Roger Kilburne of Wellsburg, NY; five grandchildren; Michael and David Allen, Corey and Brianna Hurd, and Ashley Smith. In addition to her husband, Douglas, she was predeceased by a son, Roy Rice in 1989, and two sisters, Nancy Kelly and Barb Allen. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Debbie Button officiating.
