Obituary of Larry Ames
Larry Ames, age 76, of Covington, PA, died on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at his residence. Born on December 7, 1934 in Scottsville, NY, he was the son of Stuart and Bertha (Beehler) Ames. Larry was predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Flugel) Ames. Prior to his retirement, Larry was employed with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY. He was a US Army veteran. Larry was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Arnot Sportsmens Club and enjoyed hunting.
Larry is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Julie Nichols of Rochester, NY, Wendy and Richard Faber of Apopka, FL; a step-daughter, Vicki Smith Drysdale of Hamlin, NY; three step-sons and daughters-in-law, David Smith of Milan, PA, James and Patricia Smith of Deltona, FL, John and Kristin Smith of Clarendon, NY; 15 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Margaret, Larry was also predeceased by a son, Scott Ames on Dec. 5, 2002.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. Graveside services will be held at the Lakeside Cemetery in Hamlin, NY at a later date.
