Obituary of Margaretta Swezey
Margaretta Gret Swezey, age 85, of Mansfield, PA, died on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in the Williamsport Hospital, Williamsport, PA. Gret was born on December 24, 1924, a daughter of George R. and Mildred (Bennett) Baker. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter Swezey on September 15, 1994.
Gret was the matriarch of the Baker family. Prior to her retirement, she was employed for 57 years with the Pennysaver. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed friends, family, her church and gardening.
Gret is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Baker of Williamsport, PA, Jeanne Baker of Covington, PA; the following nieces and nephews: Walter Tiger Baker, Terri Krohn, James Baker, Jon Michael Baker, Lori Demchak, Kim Schmitz, Amy Meyer and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Walter, she was also predeceased by one sister, Evelyn Baker on March 5, 2010 and two brothers, George Walter Baker on Oct. 13, 2008 and Clarence John Baker on Sept. 18, 2009.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will be held immediately following calling hours at 4:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Case officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA.
