Obituary of Jimmy Weller Welch
J.W. Welch (The Farmer From Mansfield), died on Friday, September 3, 2010 in Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. J.W. was born on June 10, 1937 in Mansfield, PA, the son of Merrill and Loretta (Heyler) Welch. He was married to Susan (Sundberg) Welch. J.W. was self-employed as a farmer and employed by E.M.T.A. He served in the National Guard and was a member of Friendship Lodge #247 Free and Accepted Masons of Mansfield. In addition to his wife, Susan, J.W. is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Susannah Welch of Magna, Utah; a daughter, Amy Welch of Mansfield, PA; one sister, Norma Jamison of Limeport, PA; five grandchildren: Carlene, Dylan, Jacob, Gunnar Welch, and Douglas Kilgore; three nephews and a niece. In keeping with J.W.s wishes, there will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Laurel Hospice, 24 Walnut St., Wellsboro, PA 16901 and the Mansfield Free Public Library, N.
