Obituary of Lena Alta Wood

Lena Alta Wood, age 91, of Mansfield, PA, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. Lena was born February 3, 1919 in Roseville, PA, a daughter of Ira and Eula (Brace) Giles. She was the wife of the late Joe L. Wood. Lena was a member of the Mansfield United Methodist Church. Lena is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Donna Wood of Lawrenceville, PA, Arland and Diane Wood of Blossburg, PA, Gary and Debbie Wood of Correyville, PA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Joan and Paul Coldiron of Mesquite, TX, Sylvia Welch of Mansfield, PA; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sisters, Myra Smith of Elmira, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe, one sister, Lettie Mitchell, two daughters, Christine Snyder and Patricia McCoy. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Joy Hulslander officiating.
