Obituary of Alverta McConnell
Alverta Dood McConnell, 81, from Wellsboro, PA died Monday, July 26, 2010 in Addison, NY. She is survived by special friend, Bill Freeman; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert (Bob) and Charlene Knickerbocker, Terry and Kay VanGorden, Peter Jr. and Suanne VanGorden, Charles (Bounce) and Jan VanGorden, David and Etta VanGorden; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy Thomas and Joe Francisihiello, Alverta (Sis) White, Carol and Rodney (Skeet) Crane, Paula (Suckie) and Steve Copp; brothers and sisters-in-law, Guy and Barb Knickerbocker, Leslie and Jane Knickerbocker, Larry Knickerbocker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Naomia and Robert Moon, Rosella and George Barker, Regina and David Birdsell, Shirley and Robert (Bud) Gee, Sandy and Allen Cook, Darlene McNett and Ed Stalley; 27 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are parents, Lorena and Elmer Knickerbocker; husbands, Peter VanGorden, Sr., and Grant (Push) McConnell; daughters, Connie and Debra VanGorden; grandchildren, Amy Stedman, Jody Knickerbocker, and Cody Lee VanGorden.
Alverta was a member of the Wellsboro V.F.W. and Moose. She loved camping, bingo, dancing, hunting and fishing.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made to the Wellsboro V.F.W. in honor of Dood. The Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
