Obituary of Gladys V. Powell

Gladys V. Powell, age 90, of Mansfield, PA, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Gladys was born February 18, 1920 in Saginaw, MI, a daughter of Walter and Meta (Coosard) Stilson. She was a teacher at the Don Gill Elementary School before her retirement. Gladys was a member of the Covington Baptist Church, enjoyed traveling, crocheting, ceramics, and her grandkids. Gladys is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Glenna Powell of Mansfield, PA and Joseph and Deanna Powell of Wellsboro, PA; six grandchildren, Heather Doty, Cory Powell, Meegan McConnell, Jeff Powell, Aaron Powell and Sara Mahosky; 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, LeRoy and Guy Stilson, and one sister, Lois Wilson. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following the viewing at 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home with the Rev. Teddy Rood officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield, PA.
