Obituary of M. Arthur George
M. Arthur George, age 93, of Tioga, PA, died on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. Arthur was born on April 16, 1917 in Tioga, PA, the son of Max and Alice (Buckbee) George. He was predeceased by his wife, Orianna (Cuneo) George on August 24, 2003.
Prior to his retirement, Arthur was employed as an electrician with Ingersoll Rand. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, the Loyal Order of the Moose in Wellsboro, PA and the Tioga Grange.
Arthur is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Sheila Cuneo of Tioga, PA, Mark and Deborah George of Tioga, PA, Matt and Bonnie George of Horseheads, NY, Phil and Nona George of Altoona, PA, John and Donna George of Altoona, PA, Tony and Connie George of Altoona, Richard and Mary George of Franklin Fall, NY; three daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Chip Guinn of Indianapolis, IN, Carol and Ted Cary of Tempe, AZ, and Donna and John Slocum of Willow, AL, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Orianna, Arthur was also predeceased by a daughter, Beth George and son-in-law, Thomas Burkett, one brother, Thomas George and a sister, Alberta Fye.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 2:00 PM to 4PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at the funeral home at 4:00 PM with the Rev. Rowena Gibbons officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Arthurs name to: St. Andrews Episcopal Church, PO Box 368, Tioga, PA 16946. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
