Obituary of Dennis J. Mizdail

Dennis J. Mizdail, Sr., age 83, of Mansfield, PA, passed away peacefully from the loving arms of his family to the Lord on Friday, June 11, 2010 at home. Dennis was born November 21, 1926 in Ceastown, PA, a son of William and Frances (Sobieski) Mizdail. Dennis was the husband of Pauline (Hancher) Mizdail and would have celebrated their 59th anniversary on July 14th. He retired from the Ralston Purina Co. after 41 years of employment. Dennis was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church in Mansfield. He was a member of the American Legion Post #478, the N.R.A., and the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a U.S. Army Paratrooper during WWII. Dennis is survived by his wife, Pauline of Mansfield; six sons, Dennis, Jr. of Abington, MA, William and Gregory of Tioga, PA, Robert, Jeffrey and Joseph all of Mansfield, PA; four daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret and David Colegrove of Tioga, PA, Rebecca McConnell of Leadville, CO, Frances Mizdail of Denver, CO, Elizabeth Mizdail of Mansfield, PA; five grandchildren, Laura (Brett) Abel, Matthew Colegrove, Jay McConnell, Nikolas Mizdail, Kristian Mizdail; two great grandchildren, Scout Abel and Iris Abel; five sisters, Margaret Schrama and Leona Mizdail of Hunlock Creek, PA, Hedwig Kupersmit of New York, NY, Frances Castiglioni of Stamford, CT, Marie Mark of Hunlock Creek, PA. Dennis was predeceased by a great grandson, Mason Abel in 2005, brothers, Frank and Eugene Mizdail. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Child Catholic Church, Mansfield, PA with the Rev. John J. Chmil as celebrant.
